I finally decided to try out the whole corner to corner crochet affair and guess what?  I love it!  I remember the start time I saw a picture of a C2C crochet pattern and thought "wow, how did she get her stitches to plough different means like that?"

I was definitely intrigued about the corner to corner thing but put it on the back burner since I had a lot of other projects going on.  When I picked upwardly some Bernat Blanket yarn I had no idea what I was going to do with it, I only knew that I liked how soft and bulky it was.  When I finally did decide on a project I knew I wanted to try C2C and the Quick and Easy Crochet Babe Coating was born!

C2C Crochet Afghan Blueprint Details

I made this original pattern during the times I needed a break from some other more complicated projects I had going on.  Sometimes you lot simply need a project that lets you lot crochet almost mindlessly.  (Does that sound bad?  With three little guys sometimes I demand to unwind and give myself a pause from figuring out run up and row counts!)

And, just like with my most popular free crochet coating design, my little guy absolutely loves it!

I too decided not to do an edging on this blanket because I merely similar the mode that the natural border of the C2C method looks with this yarn.  This is probably the first blanket I've ever made and not had some type of edge, but I only really like the simplicity of this free pattern.  If I were to do a border on this pattern I would utilise a round or two of merely simple single crochet stitches, or you lot could use one of these 25+ crochet edge patterns.

What You'll Need

Yarn: Bernat Blanket, v.three oz/150g, each approximately 108 yards/98 meters (polyester): two skeins each of Calorie-free Teal (MC) and Vintage White (CC) **Note: they also sell larger 300g skeins so 1 skein in each color of this size should be the same amount

Crochet Claw: P (11.50mm)

Notions: Yarn needle, scissors

Skill Level: Piece of cake

Yarn Weight: Super Bulky (Weight #6)

Finished Measurements: Approximately 34″ foursquare

Estimate: 3 blocks = 4″

Baby Blanket c2c Blueprint:

With MC, ch half-dozen.

Row 1: Dc in 4th concatenation from claw and next 2 ch; turn – ane block made.

Row 2: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and adjacent 2 ch, (sl st, ch iii, 3 dc) in side by side ch 3 space; turn – 2 blocks made.

Row three: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and next 2ch, (sl st, ch 3, three dc) in all ch-3 spaces of previous row; turn.

Rows 4-21: Repeat row 3.  Each row should increase one block until at that place are a total of 21 blocks.

Row 22:Sl st in 3 dc, (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc) in side by side ch-3 sp of previous row to terminal ch-3 sp, sl st in concluding ch-3 sp; turn – do non make a block in the last space.
